Le narrateur de ce roman a trois meilleurs copains : Joseph, Solal et Ilies.
Le problème, c’est que Solal et Ilies ne sont pas du tout meilleurs copains entre eux. À l’origine de cette brouille : le football. Solal est un supporter inconditionnel du PSG, quand Ilies ne jure que par l’OM. La seule chose sur laquelle ils sont d’accord, c’est que le foot est une religion, et que l’équipe de l’autre est une insulte à la sienne. Cette mésentente est d’autant plus pesante qu’ils vivent dans le même immeuble.
